CLINICAL STAFFBRUCE C. JOHNSON, MS, CADC Executive DirectorBruce
C. Johnson comes to PACE with over twenty-five years in the drug and alcohol
treatment field. Starting as a
volunteer counselor at the Center for Pastoral Care in the mid-80's, Bruce was
hired as a counselor at the New Beginnings Family Center and was later promoted
to Director--a position he held for five years. Bruce was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Charter
Behavioral at Hiddenbrook/Meadows System of Maryland where he managed three
addiction facilities. PACE brought
Bruce back to Delaware, back to outpatient treatment and back to his home state.
Bruce has a Master's Degree and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
Bruce is currently President of the Delaware Association of Alcohol and
Drug Addictions Counselors and was named Professional of the year by DAADAC in
2004. Bruce also is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional.
George comes to PACE with over
20 years experience in the drug and alcohol and employee assistance field.
George is a Johnson Institute trained interventionist and does D.O.T. training
concerning alcohol and drug misuse for those employees possessing commercial
driver's license. George's past experiences include Director of Admissions and
Community Relations Rep for Bowling Green Brandywine for 11 years and also the
EAP for Local 107 United Electrical Workers at Westinghouse Elect Corp. in
Lester, PA. George has also been on the Delaware Association of Alcohol and Drug
Addictions Counselors Conference Committee for the past ten years. George is a
CADC and has personal recovery experience. George was named Professional of the
year 2003 at DAADAC, Professional of the year 2003 at EAPA, past Vice President
of DAADAC and is currently Vice President of EAPA.
George has been with PACE for 11 years. Dorinda has a Bachelor's
Degree in Social Work and is a certified addiction
counselor. She began her career as a case manager at an inpatient drug and
alcohol treatment center where she worked primarily with dual diagnosis
patients. Dorinda also spent several years as a mental health technician for
adolescents and children. She worked at PACE for five years as a primary
counselor and has been Clinical Supervisor for six years. Dr. Charles Hill has over ten
years working in the addiction field this year dating back to his position as
Medical Consultant to New Beginnings Outpatient treatment center in l987.
Dr. Hill spent nine years with that organization before accepting a
position with PACE. Dr. Hill gained
his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Mississippi and has
his residency and internship at the Medical Center of Delaware.
Dr. Hill began his career as a primary care internal physician in l974
and still maintains a Wilmington practice.
He is a specialist in addictionology.
Dr. Hill was also a flight surgeon with Delaware Army National Guard from
l971 to l987. Currently, Dr. Hill
has admitting privileges at two local hospitals--St. Francis Hospital and
Medical Center of Delaware. Dr.
Hill is married and lives in the Wilmington area. Betty comes to PACE with 27
years experience in the Drug and Alcohol field and is certified in Chemical
Dependency Nursing. She started her career in a detox unit in 1982 as a staff
nurse. A total of 6 years detox nursing, 11 years of rehab nursing. Betty was
also a care manager for 3 years. She has spent the last 7 years at PACE as an
evaluation /staff nurse. Rebecca has a Masters Degree in Community Counseling from Wilmington University. She has been at PACE for 4 years and has worked as an Intensive Outpatient Counselor and currently as an Evaluator. Rebecca also has experience working in the Mental Health field with children and families. LESA CAINLesa
comes to PACE as the primary counselor in our Partial Hospital program with over
sixteen years experience in the field of substance abuse.
Previously Lesa worked with the homeless dual diagnosed and currently has
focused her training and experience on substance abuse counseling.
Lesa has received education in Human Services and Behavioral Science. Bob has been employed with PACE for
over 14 years, 8 years as program case manager for the Partial Hospital Program
and currently Intensive Outpatient senior case manager. Bob has been in the
alcohol and drug treatment field for over 20 years, beginning in 1988 as weekend
facilitator for SENTEC, RCD, then in 1989 Bob worked at Kirkwood Detox for 9
months. Bob then was hired by New Beginnings Family Center where he worked as
case manager for IOP, as well as completing evaluations, ASI’s and
individuals. Bob continued to work part-time at New Beginnings while being
employed by the V.A. Hospital in Elsmere, DE, where he worked 3 years inpatient
and then helped develop an Intensive Outpatient Program from 1995 to 1997.
Throughout his experience, Bob has developed a wealth of knowledge regarding
addiction, which is an added resource to our staff. In addition, Bob has
presented workshops for various organizations, including EAPA, DAADAC and
Delaware Family Services. Bob is a CADC certified counselor.
Bobbi
has eighteen years experience in the helping and healing field. She obtained her
Masters in Community Counseling from Wilmington College and has been at PACE for
eight years. Her past places of employment/experience include Psycho-therapeutic
Services, North East Treatment Center, Connections and Delaware Psychiatric
Center. Karen has a Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling
from Neumann College. She has worked in the substance abuse field for seven years.
Karen began her career as a case manager/counselor at an Adult Rehabilitation
Center in Wilmington, DE. Karen also has experience working with dual diagnosis
clients. Bridgette
has a CAAC and is currently working towards her CADC. Bridgette has been with PACE for 6 years. She is a IOP and
Continuing Care case manager and she also runs our family group.
She has experience working with substance abuse
and dual diagnosed clients. Bridgette
has 11 years personal recovery experience.
Beth comes to
PACE, Inc. with over twenty year’s experience in the Drug & Alcohol field.
She has experience working with both adolescent and adult population. Beth has a
Masters in Human Services. She also has an extensive background in Adventure
based counseling and ropes courses. Stan
Mifflin has a Masters in Human Service Administration. Stan has 12 years of
experience in adventure based counseling with adolescents, 2 years with the
mental health/dual diagnosed population and 5 years with drug and alcohol. Jason has an Associates degree from Delaware Tech in Drug and Alcohol Counseling and has been working in the Drug and Alcohol field for three years. Jason has been an active mentor to drug addicted adolescents and is serving board member as part of the grass roots group "HERO IN HURTS, INC." for the past five years.
BUSINESS OFFICEDOREEN BENSONDoreen has over thirty-six
years experience in business operations, with 20 years at PACE. Her
organizational and relationship skills are strengths that enhance her ability to
keep PACE running smoothly. Doreen’s personal recovery aids in her knowledge
and sensitivity to 12-Step recovery programs in this community. Judy has twenty two years
experience working in secretarial/office management positions, 21 years in Drug
and Alcohol, one year in Mental Health. Her sensitivity and ability to
communicate make her a real asset to PACE. Judy is responsible for coordinating
all office management services. Dolores
has over 25 years experience in administrative office work, 16 years have been
in the drug and alcohol field. She is responsible for data entry of all new
client information and insurance billing, maintain DUI data base information,
create and update computer generated forms, maintain web page and back up
Business Coordinator. Kelly has over 11 years
experience in the corporate world and has been with PACE for 9 years.
She is responsible for scheduling, verifying patient insurance benefits
and account receivables. Kelly’s expertise is in customer service and account
management. Simone comes to PACE with over 16 years experience in customer service, medical billing and insurance follow up, two of those years were spent working in the mental health field. Simone is responsible for contacting insurance companies in an effort to collect payment of claims. Simone has been with PACE for six months. |
